Computer Essentials 1: Technology, Terminology, Windows 10, Files &Folders

Are you new to computers or unsure how to use the one you have?  Computers can be overwhelming to the new user so let us introduce you to the basics of how a computer works. During the 3 sessions, students of all ages will learn hands-on computer skills and will get a better understanding of computers and how they can help you in your daily life. You will learn about the keyboard, the mouse, computer terminology, the components of your computer, and how to use the Windows operating system including how to organize your files with folders and how to search your computer for your files and programs. $30

Computer Essentials 2: Intro to Internet and Email  

Thursdays, Feb 29, March07 and 14, 2024  – Leduc Public Library 1-3 p.m.     *3 session class

Continue to build on your understanding of your computer by exploring the Internet and Email systems.  Join us to discover the World Wide Web and how to “Surf the Net”.  It can open a whole new library of information and uses for your computer.  You will learn web browsers, search engines and web sites so you can find what you are looking for as well as how to create mailing lists with attachments.  Please bring your email address and password with you to class. $20

iPhone and iPad Support Sessions

Thursdays Feb 22, March 21,2024  1-4 pm $10 (these are 1-1 sessions and need to be booked with LAL) 

Does your Apple iPhone confuse and frustrate you?? Do you wish you were more comfortable using your Apple iPad? Do you wish you could get your list of questions about your devices answered??  Bring your iPhone and/or iPad, your of list questions, and a notebook to the Sessions!!

MS WORD – Introduction to Word

Are You ready to learn something else you can do with your computer? Do you want to create documents that look great? Have you figured out how to use MS Word but think there must be easier ways to use it??
Discover the basics of creating MS Word documents including:

Create easy to memorize yet unique and secure passwords with an easily learned system.  Learn how to recognize dangerous emails and attachments and how to avoid scams.  Explore several free tools that can help with Internet security.  Examine your options if you suspect that your computer has been exposed to malicious operators.

MS Excel – Introduction to Excel

Have you tried using MS Excel and been lost and overwhelmed by it?
Do You have a spreadsheet you are expected to use and maintain?
Do You want to be more efficient and confident using Excel?
Join this class!! You will learn how to use Microsoft’s spreadsheet program, MS Excel to create, save, and edit spreadsheet files; to enter and edit information; create basic formulas; use basic Functions like SUM; and attractively format and print your spreadsheet. You will learn to use Excel while creating a membership list
**A GOOD working knowledge of MS Word before taking this course will make learning Excel MUCH easier.

Digital Photo Workshop

Transfer, Edit, Organize and Create with Digital Photos
Learn how to transfer digital photos from your phone or digital camera.  Sort, rename and organize photos into a meaningful file structure for easy retrieval and viewing.  Easily edit photos to remove imperfections, blemishes, and unwanted people or scenery with free software.  Learn how photos can be prepared for publication, presentation, and printing.
